CEFALEA CRÓNICA EN UN PACIENTE CON ESQUISENCEFALIA / Chronic headache in a patient with schizencephaly

RESUMEN


Introducción. La esquisencefalia es un defecto congénito cerebral caracterizado por un trastorno de migración neuroblástica entre las semanas 7 a 16 de edad gestacional, genera una hendidura cortical cubierta de sustancia gris desde la superficie de la piamadre al ventrículo lateral; sus causas son adquiridas o genéticas. caso clínIco. Paciente mujer de 34 años de edad con cefalea crónica que no respondió a analgésicos ni relajantes musculares; al examen clínico: estrabismo divergente derecho, nistagmus horizontal y leve hemiparesia izquierda, con estudios de TAC y RMN cerebrales con esquisencefalia a labio abierto en hemisferio cerebral derecho; mejoró con flunarizina oral nocturna y analgésicos condicionales. discusión. Los síntomas más frecuentes de la squisencefalia son: déficit motor, retraso psicomotor, microcefalia y epilepsia; la paciente presentó leve hemiparesia y compromiso de pares craneales pero llegó a desarrollar sus actividades de manera normal y tener 4 hijos; consideramos que tendrá un pronóstico favorable a largo plazo.
